1.Do I need to reconfirm my flight?

All Passengers are advised to reconfirm their flights at least 72 Hours before scheduled departure. Re-confirmation is important in case of any changes to your flight. This can be done by e-mail or you can directly call your sales agent through which you bought the tickets or call our toll free no 1300 (within Bhutan).

2.Is it possible to make a group reservation online?

Unfortunately, we may not make a group reservation online. However if you contact nearest Drukair Sales Offices we try and assist you in making your group reservation.

3. Which reservations are handled as group reservations online?

Reservations consisting of 10 or more passengers are handled as group reservations.

4. Which credit cards do you accept for payment online?

Visa, Master Cards and International credit card is acceptable.

5. Can I select my seat during the online booking process?

No, at the moment Drukair does not have the online seating facility. Kindly, inform your seat preference to our staff members at the check-in counter.

6. Can I use someone else’s credit card to book my ticket online?

No, you cannot use someone else card to make the booking online.

7. Can I upgrade myself at the airport?

Yes, you can upgrade to Business class, subject to seat availability upon payment.

8. How much discount does a Student/Child/Infant get?

  • For Students we offer 30% discount on the published fare.
  • For Child we offer 33% discount on the published fare.
  • For Infant we offer 90% discount on the published fare.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

1. What time should I arrive at the airport?

For international flights, it is recommended to arrive at airport 2(two) hours before the scheduled departure time of your flight.
For domestic flights this duration is 1(one) hour. Only for Kathmandu and Delhi you have to report 3 (three) hours prior to departure.

2. What’s the latest time to have the boarding pass?

For domestic flights: 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time of your flight.
For international flights: 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time of your flight.

3. What is the minimum transit timing?

Due to the precarious weather situation, (just in case your flight is canceled or delayed) we recommend you to plan for a 24-hour layover especially for connecting flights.

4. Where can I get information 24/7 on Drukair?

You can contact our toll free no (in-country) 1300 for information regarding flight bookings and reservations.

5. What are your office timings?

Our offices in Thimphu and Paro are open from 9:00AM to 5:00PM (weekdays) and from 10:00AM to 1:00PM (weekends). However, reservation and ticketing transactions are done till 4:00PM (weekdays) and12:00PM (weekends). Please note the City office timing depends on the flight schedule. For stations office the timing is as follows:

6. Can I pre-check in with Drukair?

No, we do not have the facility to pre-check in at the moment.

8. Traveling while Pregnant

What are the guidelines for traveling on Drukair while pregnant?

  • Women with pregnancies can fly up to their 28th weeks of pregnancies without doctor report.
  • Pregnant women expecting one baby can fly with doctor report states fit to fly by air carriage between 28 - 35 weeks. After that, they are no longer fit to fly even with medical clearance.
  • Pregnant women expecting twins or more can fly with doctor report states fit to fly by air carriage between 28 - 31 weeks. After that, they are no longer fit to fly even with medical clearance.
  • Medical clearance must be dated 14 days prior to the flight.
  • The report should be issued in English.

9. Transport your pets

Pets can only travel as a checked-in baggage. You will also need a health certificate of your pet.Also please note, the pet does not constitute as part of baggage allowance, and you have to pay excess baggage as per the rate.Please contact Reservations in advance so we can notify you of the rates and any requirements or travel changes that may affect you and your pet. CUSTOMER SERVICE

1. How much is my free baggage allowance?

On international routes your free baggage allowance is 30kgs for economy class and 40 kgs for Business class. An infant under 2years of age and not occupying a seat is not entitled to baggage allowance.

2. What if I have connecting flights and want to check in my baggage?

If you have connecting flights and your baggage has to be checked in to final destination, please inform at the check-in counter before checking your luggage. Baggage Check-in is only available, with an agreement airline.

3. How many pieces of carry-on hand baggage am I allowed?

To comply with the security regulations, passengers may carry only one hand baggage. Its sum of three dimensions (length, breadth and height) should not exceed 100 cm and the weight should not exceed more than 5kg. The hand bag­gage may comprise:

  • A lady’s handbag
  • An overcoat or a wrap
  • An umbrella or a walking stick
  • A small camera and a pair of binoculars
  • A reasonable amount of reading material for the flight
  • For invalid, passengers, a fully collapsible invalid wheel chair and/or a pair of crutches.
All other items, such as typewriters, briefcases, overnight bags, personal radios, vanity cases, large cameras, etc. will be weighed with other baggage and will be subject to payment of excess baggage charges if the total weight exceeds the free baggage allowance.

4. Restricted Items?

For safety reasons, dangerous articles listed below, must not be carried in passenger’s baggage.

  • Compressed gasses – (deeply refrigerated, flammable, non-flammable and poisonous) such as butane, oxygen, liquid nitrogen, aqualung cylinders
  • Corrosives such as acids, alkalis, mercury and wet cell batteries
  • Explosives, munitions, fireworks and flares
  • Flammable liquids and solids such as lighter fuel, matches, paints, thinners, fire-lighters
  • Radioactive materials
  • Brief-cases and attaché cases with installed alarm devices
  • Oxidizing materials such as bleaching powder, peroxides
  • Poisons and infectious substances such as insecticides, weed-killers and live virus materials
  • Other restricted articles such as mercury, magnetized material, offensive or irritating materials.
Also carriages of dry cell batteries, knives, scissors, sharp instruments, tools, firearms, ammunition, and toy replicas are prohibited in the passenger cabin. Medicines and toiletries in limited quantities, which are necessary or appropriate for the passenger during the journey, such as hairsprays, perfumes, and medicines containing alcohol, may be carried. Many of these listed articles can be carried as air cargo provided they are packed in accordance with the cargo regulations.

5. Refunds and receipts

I have purchased a ticket from travel agency. Can I obtain refund from Drukair’s Sales Office’s? No, only for tickets purchased from our sales office you can obtain refund otherwise you will have to obtain refund from your Travel agency.

6. How to request for a refund?

B2C:
    For tickets bought on line through credit cards please visit our homepage and cancel your booking under manage your PNR. Once your ticket is cancelled your refund will be processed and your money will be credited within 14 working days.
AGENTS:
   Tickets bought through agents, refund will also have to be made through agents only.
COUNTER /WALK IN REFUND:
   If you bought tickets directly through Drukair kindly visit the office from where your tickets where purchased for refund.

7. How can I get a flight delay certificate?

PRODUCTS & PROGRAMS

1. Where can I register for Frequent Flyers Program and what are the requirements?

You may register online on our program website at happiness.drukair.com.bt and requirements are that you should be at least 12 years of age holding a valid ID proof document of any nationality.
The accepted ID proof documents are:

  1. Passport or,
  2. Citizenship ID Card (for Bhutanese nationals only) or,
  3. Voter ID (for Indian Nationals only).

2. How do I get Mileage credit on my flights with Drukair?

To ensure that you earn Miles on all your flights with Drukair, please quote your registered mobile number or your membership card number at the check-in counter.
   You can also claim your missing miles on unrecorded flights undertaken within 3 months from the current date, online, by logging in to your account with your registered mobile number and your 4 digit PIN code, from the ‘Claim Missing Miles’ tab.
   If your flight was undertaken before 3 months from the current date (after 10th November, 2014), please make your request for mileage claim at our sales offices with the following documentation:

  1. A copy of the ticket
  2. Copies of the boarding passes

3. How do I book a Happiness Reward Ticket?

To book a Happiness Reward Ticket, please visit our Sales Offices with your Membership Card and your registered ID proof document.

4. Who do I contact to request an upgrade?

To check availability and request an upgrade, please contact a representative at the check-in on the day of departure.
