About Kathmandu

Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal and the largest metropolitan city, the other two sister cities are Patan or Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. The short form of Kathmandu is KTM, in terms of area Kathmandu valley is only slightly smaller than Singapore.

Counter Timing:

There are two check-in points, A and B. All outbound flights to Paro are checked-in from block A and Delhi bound flights are checked-in on block B on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our check-in counters are not permanently designated to us therefore we advise you to check beforehand on the display boards that is located outside the terminal. Our counter opens 3hrs prior to departure time and closes 1hr prior to departure time.

Travel Tips:

Travellers are advised to carry passports at all times with minimum 6 months validity. Indian Nationals travelling from Kathmandu to Delhi and vice versa can also travel with their original voters ID. Indian passengers travelling from Kathmandu to Paro and vice versa can only travel with a valid Passport, voters ID is not acceptable. Passengers with connecting flights or onward journey must have minimum 3 hours transit time. Information on transit flight must be passed onto the staff at the embarking station so that the information is passed onto us. Arrangements can be made provided we are pre-informed.

Though all major currencies are acceptable, carrying a minimum of USD 100 as a visa fee would be the safest bet.
